The Glory of Psalm Words

(From the Amplified Bible; definitions in brackets)

“…in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand

there are pleasures forevermore.” PSALM 16:11

Father, I adore You because the fullness of joy [great happiness] and pleasure [delight and satisfaction] comes when we’re in Your presence [detectability of something in a place at a particular time; an impressive appearance or bearing; a supernatural spirit that is felt to be nearby; somebody who is notably present].

“…You make him joyful with the joy of Your presence.” PSALM 21:6 Father, I adore You because You make people “joyful with the joy of Your presence.”

“…‘Seek My face [in prayer, require My presence as your greatest need]’ …” PSALM 27:8 Father, thank you that we can “seek” Your “face in prayer.” May we “require” Your “presence as” our “greatest need.”

“…in awe of Your signs [the evidence of Your presence]…” PSALM 65:8 Father, I adore You for occasionally giving “signs…of Your presence.”

“Seek and deeply long for the Lord and His strength [His power, His might]; seek and deeply long for His face and His presence continually.” PSALM 105:4 Holy Spirit, help us “seek and deeply long for the Lord….His power, His might.” Also help us “long for His face and His presence continually.”

“in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You” PSALM 33:22

Father, help us see the proportion of our waiting and hoping for You [the ultimate ratio of overall importance between our past struggles and our future joys].

“failing to inherit Your promises]…” PSALM 119:6

Father, we don’t want to fail “to inherit Your promises” (those pledges to provide or do something) for us.
